Projects
This page collects the studio's recent finished work, arranged by discipline. Some pieces are available to buy; others were commissions or personal projects kept for the portfolio. Where a piece is still for sale, that's noted. For anything you'd like to commission in a similar style, the contact details are at the bottom.
Crochet — blankets and afghans
The largest body of work and the thing people find the studio through most often. Recent completions:
- Granny-square afghan in sage, rust, and cream — King-sized, took about six weeks of evenings. Acrylic-wool blend for washability. Sold.
- Ripple blanket in a gradient of blues — Throw-sized for a sofa, pure wool. Still available.
- Cot blanket in pale cotton — A gift commission for a newborn, finished in ten days. Pale yellow and white.
- Large chevron afghan in autumnal tones — Burnt orange, mustard, charcoal. Commission completed in March. The client wanted something for a reading nook.
Crochet — wearables and accessories
Smaller pieces that fill the gaps between larger blanket projects:
- Cable-stitch beanie in charcoal merino — Unisex, adult medium. Available.
- Linen-cotton market bag — Open mesh construction, carries a full shop. Available in natural and sage.
- Alpaca shawl in heather grey — Triangle shape, lightweight for indoor wear. Sold within a week of listing.
- Fingerless mitts in speckled tweed — Made a set of four pairs for a Christmas order last autumn.
Sewing — bags and pouches
The sewing side uses offcuts from the crochet patterns (printed cotton linings), plus plain linens and canvases:
- Zip pouch set in Liberty print cotton — Three sizes, lined and interfaced. Made in batches of six.
- Simple tote in natural linen — Unlined, raw edges turned inward. The everyday bag the studio uses itself.
- Drawstring project bag — Made for storing yarn between sessions. Printed cotton exterior, plain lining.
Photography — recent prints
Small-edition prints on archival paper. The current catalogue includes:
- Swan series, frames 14–18 — The latest additions to the long-running river series. Morning light, mist. Edition of 15 each.
- Dog portrait: Alfie on his bench — The most-requested single print from the dog collection. Edition of 25.
- Garden birds: goldfinch pair — Taken from the kitchen window last February. Edition of 10.
Watercolour — recent studies
The painting side of the studio works slowly, usually one piece per fortnight:
- Botanical: foxglove study — A3 on cold-pressed paper. Available.
- Pet portrait commission: two spaniels — Completed in watercolour and ink, delivered in a double mount.
- Garden-bird study: wren — Small study for the ongoing bird series. Available.
Commissioning a piece
For something custom — a blanket in particular colours, a pet portrait, a set of bags for a wedding party — email [email protected] with a sentence about what you're after and roughly when you'd need it. The studio takes on a small number of commissions at a time to keep the quality where it should be.
